Directions
What if your classroom wasn't bound by four walls? What if you could step out the door and view a comet first hand, or interact with nine planets and discover how gravity affects our actions, or step into the Space Station and complete experiments that stretch the imagination - requiring team work and direction from students in Mission Control, all without leaving planet earth!
Our programs provide portals to the unknown, and tools for exploration. From interstellar travel to one-on-one encounters with science experts, it's all here at the Woodstock Challenger Learning Center.
T-minus 2:00 minutes...and all systems GO!
| The Challenger Learning Center's current day program, consisting of 4.5 hours, is the Rendezvous with a Comet mission. Students are divided into teams and rotate between the Space Station, and Mission Control. Experiments are completed that challenge students ability to reason, complete math problems, apply logic and deductive reasoning skills - designed for the appropriate age. Next, students view the IMAX 2006 movie SPACE STATION, and see first hand what life is like on the International Space Station. Students advance to our unique Interactive Ed-Venture Center where student learn about our planets and explore the solar system, and what it may be like to be on another planet.
